South Australian Tourism Commission

The biggest golf event in the nation's history, LIV Golf Adelaide 2026 injected a record $97.1 million into South Australia's economy - up almost 20% on last year.

The record expenditure brings the tournament's total economic contribution to South Australia to $314.6 million since its inception.

The 2026 event drew a record crowd of 115,000 attendees, a 12% increase from 2025 (102,483 attendees) and a 21% rise from 2024 (94,327 attendees).

The attendance set a new benchmark for golf events nationwide, while the Saturday marked the largest single-day crowd in LIV Golf history with 38,500 spectators.

43% of attendees were from out-of-state.

Travelling fans extended their stay in Adelaide, with the average visitor staying for 3.71 nights to attend multiple event days, helping drive the record economic impact.

The Saturday night of the tournament drove the greatest number of Adelaide hotel rooms occupied on record, at 10,895 rooms on 14 February 2026.

The 2026 tournament was held at The Grange Golf Club from 12-15 February and featured LIV Golf's new expanded four-day, 72-hole format.

Fans saw the all-Australian Ripper GC (Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert, Marc Leishman, and Elvis Smylie) win the team title, and the fairytale comeback of 4Aces GC's Anthony Kim and his first-ever LIV Golf title.

For the first time, LIV Golf Adelaide hosted four nights of concerts after play, headlined by local and global artists including U.S. DJ John Summit, Peking Duk, Royel Otis, and LIV Golf fan-favourite FISHER.

After four successful events at The Grange Golf Club, LIV Golf Adelaide 2027 is scheduled to be held at Kooyonga Golf Club before it moves to the newly renovated North Adelaide Golf Course in 2028.

Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas said LIV Golf Adelaide has given us 314 million reasons to back in major events for South Australia.

"Not only did the 2026 tournament generate over $97 million for our economy, but it broke national and LIV attendance records and cemented our state's position as a forward-thinking leader in world-class event delivery," Premier Malinauskas said.

"The value of international events like LIV Golf goes way beyond the dollar figure, with the thousands of out-of-state attendees going on to be passionate advocates for South Australia as place to visit, live, and do business for years to come."

LIV Golf Head of Events EVP, Ross Hallett said LIV Golf Adelaide continues to set a new standard for what a golf tournament can bring to a city.

"The passion of the fans in South Australia is unmatched, and we're incredibly proud to see growing interest and support for LIV Golf as well as Ripper GC," Mr Ross said.

"The event's success has translated into a substantial and lasting positive impact for the region and is a testament to the impact we want to have with our partners in host communities across the globe.

"We're grateful to SATC and the Premier for their continued support as we continue to set new benchmarks for the golf industry."
