What's that - Live 'n' Local is back? Music to our ears!
Council's beloved Live 'n' Local program, which started yesterday (Sunday 1 June) and will run until Monday 30 June, sees local Camden businesses open their doors to musicians by hosting performances in their premises for their customers to enjoy.
This year, there are more than 60 performances scheduled by talented locals, including:
· Vocalist, pianist and cellist, Sarah Vella;
· Singer and keys soloist, Fiona Treloar;
· Acoustic duo, The Honey Sippers;
· Traditional Vietnamese artist, Minh Ha Patmore; and
· Singer, Riley Lattuga.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the program had grown from strength to strength since it was first held in June 2017.
"Each year we get the same feedback from our residents - they look forward to, and love, this Live 'n' Local program," she said.
"There's something so special about heading down to your local café at the weekend, or heading out to the RSL or golf club for dinner or even just doing some shopping locally and being able to listen to an amazing performance at the same time.
"It adds such a beautiful, cozy atmosphere to our already fantastic local vibe.
"To our talented artists who have chosen to share their creativity with us - thank you. I know how daunting it can be to put yourselves out there but please know we are all in awe of you."
