Loaded pistol and cannabis seized, NSW

A loaded pistol and cannabis plants were seized from a house at Macquarie Fields today by police who also arrested a 34-year-old man, NSW Police say.

Officers investigating the illegal manufacture of cannabis executed a search warrant at the property in Helica Road about 10.30am (Thursday 8 February 2018), locating 14 cannabis plants growing in two bedrooms.

Hydroponic equipment and almost half a kilogram of loose cannabis were also seized.

While searching the home, officers also found a loaded .22 pistol and additional rounds of ammunition.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with drug possession and knowingly take part in the cultivation of cannabis.

He was granted bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 5 March 2018.

Inquiries into the firearm are continuing.
