Townsville bands Late November and Marrow Lane will warm up the crowd for the major acts at the biggest free event at the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA).
Brisbane's Young Lions will take to the stage before headline act San Cisco greets fans at Strand Park on Thursday night.
Community and Cultural Development Committee Chair Cr Colleen Doyle said it will be a memorable night for the Townsville bands.
"It will be brilliant to see Late November and Marrow Lane playing in the same line-up as San Cisco," Cr Doyle said.
"San Cisco released their first EP in 2011 and their single 'Awkward' was voted into seventh place in JJJ's Hottest 100," Cr Doyle said.
"They completed their biggest tour last year and their song 'When I Dream' earned a spot in the Hottest 100.
"Brisbane's Young Lions have released three albums and their last album 'Mr Spaceman' rose to number three on iTunes Global.
"This is a wonderful chance for local musicians to play with bigger bands in Townsville.
"NAFA staff have spent most of the week preparing the Strand Park Main Stage so it can be a great, free concert for all ages."
Late November secured a place in the line-up for winning the People's Choice Award at the Neck of the Woods Music Festival.
Local Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said Marrow Lane earned their place in the concert when they won Council's Youth Music Competition.
"This is a great opportunity for these Townsville musicians and it once again shows that Council is supporting local acts," Cr Greaney said.
"Townsville is the events capital of Northern Australia and it is fantastic to see local musicians involved.
"The sun will be setting when the show kicks off at 5:30pm so it will be a great setting to see two Townsville bands.
"The concert headlined by San Cisco and Young Lions will be a wonderful free night of entertainment for music fans at The Strand."
