During the 2025 federal election, some community members told us they were concerned about pedestrian safety and access around polling stations. They mentioned areas where electoral signage was placed on footpaths, such as advertising signs and posters for election candidates and political parties.
As a result, we are proposing changes to our local law about the display of election signage. So people can move around safely while maintaining freedom of political communication.
We'd like to hear from you about these proposed changes, whether they make sense and if you support what they're aiming to do.
