More than 1,000 people who give up their valuable time as volunteers to help their community have been recognised at this year's Campbelltown City Gift of Time Awards ceremony.
The Gift of Time Awards are held annually to acknowledge and thank volunteers in Campbelltown that are affiliated with a local organisation.
This year's celebration recognised 1,035 volunteers from 50 Campbelltown community organisations and services who have collectively given up more than 200,000 hours of their time throughout the year.
A representative from each organisation was presented with recognition certificates from Mayor of Campbelltown Cr Darcy Lound at a ceremony on Thursday 4 December.
"We are honoured to celebrate our city's incredible volunteers through our annual Gift of Time Awards program. Every one of these award recipients have helped to make our city a better place to live in," Cr Lound said.
"It is important that we continue to recognise the many fantastic volunteers and community organisations who give up their precious time to do invaluable work," he said.
"Being a volunteer means you are not only there to run an event or program on the day, but you also spend countless hours doing preparation and admin beforehand.
"These awards present an opportunity to shine a light on our city's wonderful volunteers and to say thank you for their hard work."
