Logan's little learners love their local libraries.
New funding granted for the city's First Five Forever programs at Logan City Council libraries will assist community champions to support families as their child's most important first teacher.
Logan libraries will work with local early childhood services on the Little Learning Legends campaign.
Together, they will aim to create healthy learning environments.
There will be a focus on the key development messages of:
- talk
- sing
- read
- play
- dance
- move
Logan City Council Community Services Director Katie Barton-Harvey welcomed the funding.
"We know that children benefit when literacy skills and a love of reading are positively encouraged in the first five years of their lives," Ms Barton-Harvey said.
"Our Logan City Council Libraries are proud to be a part of the First Five Forever initiative.
"We are passionate about creating new pathways for families to learn together in local community spaces.
"We are looking forward to strengthening local partnerships that will support more families and young children in Logan, thanks to the State Government's support."
More than 1.7 million people visit Logan's nine libraries each year.

The First Five Forever program is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
The State Library of Queensland coordinates the local program with Logan City Council.
