Logo and uniform unveiled for Canberra's newest school

Minister for Education Yvette Berry today unveiled the logo and uniform for Canberra's newest school, Shirley Smith High School.

The release of the school branding is timely ahead of the new school's first year of operation in 2024.

Input was sought from the community and future students on three potential design options for the school's logo and uniform. Following this community consultation, the final logo and uniform has been chosen.

"Shirley Smith High School is the latest milestone in the ACT Government's big school build," Minister Berry said.

"The logo and uniform have been decided by the local community and they look absolutely fantastic."

The final design concept chosen by the community is the 'Curly S'. The Curly S logo represents the initials in the name Shirley Smith.

The community's preferred colour for the logo is 'fresh green'. The student uniforms have both the Curly S logo on the chest, as well as the handwritten S design on the uniform body.

"I look forward to the first day of the 2024 school year and welcoming new students into Shirley Smith High School, the ACT's 91st public school," Minister Berry said.
