Shellharbour City Council is pleased to announce that emerging physical theatre and screen artist Lola Bond has taken up residency at The Imaginarium in Shellharbour Village, her final creative stop before relocating to London to pursue international stage and screen opportunities.
Lola's practice is rooted in movement‑based storytelling with a focus on curiosity, play and process‑led exploration. Alongside her physical theatre work, Lola has developed a growing screen career, with credits across Australian television and digital projects. Her time in The Imaginarium will allow her to explore the foundations of a new work through improvisation, composition and physical investigation before she departs overseas.

Lola has brought together 6 collaborating performers fr the fortnight: Zoe Jewell, Grace Campbell, Laura Goodlet, Jordan Loveday, Hannah Eileen Brookes, Peyton Hutchins. As part of her residency Lola will host a special public event on Sunday, 1 March 2026 titled The Inorganic Body.
The Incubator is designed for emerging and early‑career artists (typically within the first ten years of practice), and welcomes diversity across artforms and backgrounds, including First Nations artists, artists from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and artists with disability.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the Incubator Residency was a brilliant opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their work to the wider community.
"The Incubator Residency offers time, space and encouragement for emerging artists to test ideas, grow their practice and share creativity with the community. We're excited to welcome EOIs for 2026 and to see new work take shape at The Imaginarium."
Lola said she was excited to get started in The Imaginarium.
"Being welcomed into The Imaginarium is an incredible opportunity to dive deeply into new ideas and experiment with movement in a supportive creative space. I am excited to share this process with the community and to explore how physical storytelling can evolve through curiosity, play, and collaboration."
The Imaginarium is a creative and flexible space available for hire in the heart of Shellharbour Village. The space is approximately 60.4sqm (6.4m x 9.4m), with professional gallery track hanging, spotlighting, sound‑dampening, reverse‑cycle air‑conditioning, kitchenette, storage, and display furniture (plinths, trestles, easels). It can seat up to 30 theatre‑style and 50 standing, making it ideal for exhibitions, small performances and community workshops.
