For someone experiencing domestic and family violence, access to a safe phone can be more than a way to stay connected. It can be a vital lifeline to support, secure accommodation and emergency services.

That's why The Lott by Golden Casket is proud to contribute $100,000 from unclaimed prize money to DV Safe Phone, helping the charity place safe, untraceable mobile phones into the hands of Australians experiencing domestic and family violence through a national network of Frontline support services.

The contribution builds on our support over the past two years and brings our total funding for DV Safe Phone to $200,000.

Since 2020, DV Safe Phone has provided more than 23,000 domestic violence survivors with secure phones, giving them the ability to act, plan and reach out without fear of being tracked or controlled.

Each donated device is restored, tested and prepared by DV Safe Phone's specialised team before being distributed through more than 690 partner organisations across Australia, including support agencies, shelters, hospitals and police stations.

DV Safe Phone Founder and CEO Ashton Wood said the contribution would help the charity continue turning donated devices into tools of safety, connection and independence.

"For someone experiencing domestic and family violence, a safe phone provides a secure way to call for help, connect with family, organise accommodation and receive important updates from police and support services," he said.

"This generous contribution from The Lott will help us prepare and distribute more safe phones, giving more Australians a vital connection when they need it most."

The Lott Senior Community Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said the contribution reflected the organisation's ongoing commitment to supporting DV Safe Phone's important work.

"We're incredibly proud to continue our support of DV Safe Phone with this $100,000 contribution to provide security, independence and hope for those Australians experiencing domestic and family," she said.
