He was appointed a Magistrate of the Magistrate's Court of Western Australia in September 2018. He also very successfully presided over the Barndimalgu Court in Geraldton.

Magistrate Miocevich will take up his District Court appointment on August 23, 2021.

As stated by Attorney General John Quigley:

"Magistrate Miocevich's 30 years' experience working as a lawyer and a Magistrate in regional and metropolitan WA will be invaluable in his role as a judge of the District Court.

"Over the course of his career he has demonstrated an extensive commitment to ensuring the disadvantaged have access to legal advice and services.
