The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian student has access to world-class facilities in great learning environments - with more maintenance works to be carried out at schools across the state.
Acting Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced 30 more schools would share over $16 million to undertake 31 maintenance projects between them.
This investment is part of the latest round of the Labor Government's Planned Maintenance Program - which provides funding to address high-priority maintenance issues across Victoria's government schools.
The program ensures schools can undertake essential work in classrooms and other school buildings, such as fixing roofs and replacing windows, painting, and resurfacing floors, as well as some external works like improving pathways.
Westall Secondary College was allocated over $2.5 million for clean down works, stormwater drainage works, repainting, revarnishing floors, roof works, structural works and switchboard works.
Beaumaris Primary School was allocated over $1.9 million for asphalt works, repainting works, restumping works, revarnishing floors, roof works, stormwater drainage works, structural works and switchboard works.
Works are determined by a rolling facilities evaluation process, which provides up-to-date information on the condition of schools to create a faster and more targeted allocation of funding.
Including this latest round, the program has now funded $105.5 million for 300 projects at 280 schools in 2025.
The Government has invested $18.5 billion over the past 11 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,300 school upgrades − supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.
The Victorian Budget 2024-25 invested $947.7 million to build 16 more new schools - completing the promise to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026.
The Labor Government is investing in the Education State so every student can access a great local school and a quality education no matter where they live.
