East Gippsland Shire Council is taking a big step forward in modernising the way major goods, services and works are purchased. All major procurement is now managed through VendorPanel, an online platform used by councils and organisations across Australia.
VendorPanel connects suppliers of all sizes, from local businesses to regional and national providers, with procurement opportunities, making it easier than ever to register, browse, and submit proposals online.
"Adopting VendorPanel supports our commitment to open and fair procurement," said Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth.
"It gives all suppliers, big or small, equal access to opportunities and makes it simpler for businesses to work with Council."
Council is committed to supporting local businesses wherever possible. VendorPanel enhances opportunities for local suppliers to engage with Council while simplifying the process, ensuring they have every opportunity to submit quotes or tenders.
Opportunities span a wide range of categories, including information and communication technology products and services, civil works, general goods and services, open space, fleet servicing and accessories, facilities management, waste management, human resources and recruitment, community and social services, property and leasing.
Smaller contracts will be transitioned to VendorPanel in the new year; therefore, our current quote process will remain unchanged for now.
Registration is free and straightforward. Businesses can select service categories that match their expertise and receive email alerts whenever new opportunities are published by Council or other organisations using the platform. The user-friendly interface provides a clear overview of all active opportunities and deadlines.
Local businesses are encouraged to register to ensure they don't miss out on the chance to provide services, supplies, or works. By using VendorPanel, Council aims to support local economic growth, promote competitive bidding, and make procurement simple and transparent for all suppliers.
