Making Murray River accessible for more Victorians

Even more Victorians will be able to experience the very best of the Murray River, thanks to a $500,000 investment from the Victorian Government's Regional Tourism Investment Fund.

A luxury boat on the Murray RiverThe support will allow All Seasons Houseboats to build a six-bedroom vessel that's accessible for people with disability, featuring wheelchair access, mobility support rails and a lift, as well as impressive luxury amenities including a spa, expansive living space, and a larger master bedroom with ensuite.

17 per cent of Victorians are people with disability and many are eager to travel, so the investment is a strategic move to ensure there are more accessible experiences on the Murray River.

The Victorian Government will continue to support the development of inclusive experiences, ensuring that the state's tourism destinations and events can be enjoyed by all visitors and participants.

Established in 2004, All Seasons Houseboats has grown to be one of the largest tourism operators in the Murray Region, starting with a single small houseboat to now offering visitors a fleet of 16 different vessels.

The economy will also benefit from the investment, the project will ensure a local boat builder constructs the floating accommodation, securing more local jobs.

The new houseboat will add 280 visitor nights to the All Seasons Houseboat bookings per year, helping to cement it as one of the region's leading inclusive tourism providers.

Construction of the houseboat is expected to begin in early 2023.

The Regional Tourism Investment Fund is helping entice more visitors to Victoria's regions, driving private investment and accelerating the recovery of the tourism sector.
