Man and woman charged over kidnapping in Henty

A man and a woman will face court today after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a man in the state’s south west, NSW Police say.

Police will allege over a 24 hour period on Monday 18 September 2017, a 47-year-old man was allegedly assaulted whilst held against his will at a home he shared with the pair at Henty.

On Tuesday 19 September 2017, the man was discovered at the home by a witness and taken to Wagga Base Hospital.

He was later airlifted to St George Hospital in Sydney where he underwent surgery for serious head injuries.

When the man returned to Wagga Base Hospital, the matter was reported to police and an investigation commenced.

About 9.10am yesterday (Wednesday 15 November 2017), investigators arrested a 28-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man in Wagga Wagga.

They were taken to Wagga Police Station and both charged with domestic-related special aggravated kidnapping and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The pair was refused bail to appear at Wagga Local Court today (Thursday 16 November 2017).
