Man and woman charged with assault and firearms offences in Glenwood

A man has been charged with assault and firearms offences after an incident in Glenwood this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after 4am today, police were called to a home in Farmer Close, following reports of a domestic assault.

Officers from Quakers Hill Local Area Command attended and found a 64-year-old woman had been assaulted at the home.

The woman did not require treatment.

Following further investigations at the home police found, and seized, a replica pistol.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman and they were both taken to Quakers Hill Police Station.

The man was charged with possess unauthorised pistol and not keep pistol safe.

He was given conditional bail and will appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 20 March 2017.

The woman has been charged with common assault.

She was conditional bail and will appear at Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 8 March 2017.

Chief Inspector Garry Sims said, "Police treat these types of incidents very seriously as these matters have the potential to escalate quickly with serious consequences."
