A man has been arrested after an 85-year-old woman was allegedly robbed while sitting in her home garage in the state’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.
Just before 10.30am (Friday 26 January 2017), the woman was waiting for her husband in the garage of their Mingelo Street home in Narromine when a man entered through the open roller door.
Police were told the man demanded her purse before trying to grab it. There was a short struggle before the man ran from the garage with the purse.
The woman told her husband, 86, who immediately went out looking for the man, confronting him in a nearby yard before he ran off again.
Police attended and arrested a 19-year-old man nearby.
He was taken to Narromine Police Station where he was charged with robbery and aggravated enter dwelling with intent.
The man was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Saturday 27 January 2017).
