Man arrested after city robbery, SA

A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to rob a jewellery store in Adelaide this afternoon, according to SA Police.

At about 1pm, police were called to the Shiels Jewellers store in Rundle Mall after a man had attempted to steal jewellery from a display cabinet.

The man became aggressive, and three people including an off-duty police officer detained the man until patrols arrived.

The 37-year-old man from Wynn Vale was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and refuse name and address. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 8 March.
