Man arrested after damaging police cars in Fairfield

A man has been arrested after colliding with a marked police vehicle at Fairfield this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after midnight (Saturday 24 March 2018), a white Hyundai Getz was travelling west on Smart Street, when it hit a marked police vehicle parked outside Fairfield Police Station.

Due to the impact, the police vehicle was pushed into the front of a second parked police car.

Both vehicles were pushed several metres down the road and were extensively damaged.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command arrested a 24-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.
