Man arrested, charged after sending threatening letters, NSW

Officers from the NSW Police Force Fixated Persons Investigation Unit have charged a man who allegedly sent letters threatening to bomb buildings belonging to law enforcement agencies in Sydney, NSW Police say.

Police arrested the 27-year-old man before executing a search warrant at his home on Devonshire Street, Surry Hills yesterday (Tuesday 12 June 2018), where they located various items including a machete, knives, and a chainsaw.

He was charged with send threatening document (four counts), malicious damage and possess prohibited weapon. He was bail refused to appear at Central Local Court today Wednesday (13 June 2018).

The Fixated Persons Investigation Unit was established in April last year by Commissioner Mick Fuller to focus on the detection, intervention and prevention of so-called ‘lone actor’ and ‘fixated person’ threats across the state.
