Man arrested following pursuit in western suburbs, SA

Sturt Police have arrested a Mile End man after a pursuit through numerous western suburbs last night, according to SA Police.

Just before 9.30pm on Saturday 22 July, patrols spotted a white Holden Commodore sedan on Marion Road at South Plympton and tried to pull stop the vehicle.

The male driver allegedly refused to stop and the vehicle was pursued for a short distance before patrols stopped called in the police helicopter.

PolAir then followed the car from the air through a number of suburbs including Oaklands Park, Edwardstown Glandore, Goodwood, Richmond and Underdale where patrols successfully used road spikes on Holbrooks Road. .

The white Commodore slowed with flat tyres and eventually was abandoned on Henley Street at Mile End at 10.30pm.

The male driver ran off, however patrols located him a short distance away in Bagot Avenue where he was arrested.

The 39-year-old from Mile End has charged with driving to evade police, drive in a manner dangerous to the public, driving without a licence. He has been refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
