Man arrested near Forster NSW after ABF seize child-like sex doll

A 23 year old man has been arrested after Australian Border Force (ABF) officers detected two child-like sex doll parts in an international air cargo consignment in Sydney in June this year.

The detection was referred to ABF investigators, who on 14 October executed search warrants near Forster NSW, with the assistance of NSW Police detectives.

During the warrants, officers located what is alleged to be child abuse material.

The man was arrested and charged with a number of offences, including the importation of child-like sex doll parts, and the possession of child abuse material.

ABF Commander Enforcement Operations East, Justin Bathurst said the ABF would not waiver in its commitment to stopping this kind of abhorrent activity.

"The ABF is committed to pursuing those who attempt to import all forms of child abuse material. It is deeply disturbing that people continue to try to possess these offensive items," Commander Bathurst said.

"The ABF continues to work closely with our international and domestic law enforcement partners to prevent harm to children in Australia and overseas."

Manning-Great Lakes Police District Commander, Superintendent Chris Schilt, said these arrests send a clear message to those looking to exploit children.

"Anyone who chooses to sexualise children in any form should know that the NSW Police Force, along with our law enforcement partners, will do everything in our power to put you before the courts," Supt Schilt said.

"Protecting children from those who try to exploit them is and will always be a priority."

The maximum penalty if convicted of importing child-like sex dolls is up to 10 years' imprisonment and/or fines of up to $555,000.

The ABF seizes all child-like sex dolls and child-like sex doll parts detected at the border. Where ABF officers find additional evidence of child abuse material it is referred to the appropriate federal and state authorities for investigation.
