Man arrested over glassing in West Ryde

A man has been arrested after another man was injured following an alleged glassing in West Ryde overnight, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 11pm (Saturday 3 November 2018) emergency services were called to a service station on Victoria Road, near Hermitage Road, where they found a man aged in his 20s with wounds to his head and neck.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators were told following an altercation, the injured man was approached by another man, who allegedly struck him with a broken bottle.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Ryde Police Station.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information, or who was in the vicinity, is urged to come forward.
