Man arrested over injuring toddler

Police have arrested a man over an alleged incident involving a two-year-old, Victoria Police say.

Police attended a Strathmore address on Thursday 1 November and arrested a 32-year-old man from Strathmore following an investigation by the Fawkner Sexual Offences Child Abuse Investigation Team.

During the arrest, the man resisted and was bitten by a police dog.

The man was transferred to hospital with an arm injury.

He has been charged with intentionally and recklessly cause serious injury and conduct endangering life following the alleged incident involving the two-year-old at East Keilor in April 2016.

The man has also been charged with possess meth-amphetamine and possess drug of dependence.

He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
