Man assaulted during break-in at Elizabeth East, South Australia

Police are investigating a break-in at Elizabeth East in the early hours of this morning, where a man was assaulted.

About 1.10am today (Monday 23 September), police and ambulance crews were called to a house in Inwood Road, after reports that three men armed with weapons had forced their way into the premises and assaulted one of the male occupants, and demanded money.

The trio fled with some of the victim's property, and were seen to get into a dark-coloured station wagon with roof racks and drive away.

The victim suffered minor head injuries, after he was hit on the head with an axe, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
