Man assaulted during road rage in Bundoora

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted during a road rage incident in Bundoora this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told the victim was driving along Settlement Road about 6.40am when he noticed a light brown/gold, older model, Nissan Skyline swerving all over the road.

The victim attempted to pass the car but the Nissan sped up and almost collided with a truck.

Both cars stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Plenty Road, the male driver of the Nissan got out of the car and approached the victim’s vehicle.

The victim got out of his car, thinking the man wanted to talk, but he was punched and struck with a metal tool by the man before he got back in his Nissan and drove off.

The 19-year-old Epping man was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Nissan is believed to be an R31 model with a black front and rear bumper bar, Victorian registration plates with green writing and green P plates on the rear window.

The offender is perceived to be of African or Indian Sub-Continental appearance, approximately 175cm tall, aged in his late teen to early 20s, medium build, dark short straight hair, black moustache and was wearing a green fluoro work top and shorts.

It is believed there were numerous people walking around the area at the time of the incident and investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses.
