Man assaulted with firearm during robbery in Marayong

A man has been assaulted with a firearm during a robbery in Sydney’s north west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 11pm (Sunday 9 September 2018), a 19-year-old man left Marayong Railway Station and was approached by four or five people wearing balaclavas.

He was struck with a firearm before his wallet, phone and watch were stolen.

The man fled, returning to his nearby home and alerting police.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended, and with assistance from the Dog Unit, conducted an extensive search of the area.

The man suffered a laceration to his head and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police have been told the people were seen leaving in a suspected stolen white Range Rover.

As inquiries continue, any witnesses, or anyone with information is urged to come forward.
