A man has been charged with drug and proceeds of crime offences, following a search warrant in the state's south.
About 3.45pm, on Friday 15 May 2026, officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified of suspicious activity at a hotel on Orient Street, Batemans Bay.
Officers responded and searched a room, where they allegedly located a safe containing $47,000 cash, cocaine, and cannabis.
A 22-year-old year old man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.
Later that day a search warrant was executed where police seized $47,125 in Australian currency, 590g cannabis leaf, 16.2g of cannabis oil, 398.7g synthetic cannabis, 34.1g of cannabis 'brownies', 27.5g of cocaine, 129.3g of MDMA, 2.1g of LSD, 30 vapes and 2 mobile phones.
The man was charged with 9 offences – supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug great than indictable and less than commercial, two counts of supply cannabis greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity, two counts of possess prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime < $100000 and possess commercial quantity of vaping goods.
He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 on Saturday 16 May 2026 where he was formally refused bail to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 25 May 2026.
