A man will face court after a large amount of cannabis plants were seized in Sydney's south west yesterday.
In June 2025, officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged hydroponic set up in the Condell Park area.
Following inquiries, about 4pm yesterday (Thursday 11 September 2025), officers attached to the Proactive Crime Team at Bankstown Police Area Command, with assistance from South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group, executed a search warrant at a home on Simmat Avenue, Condell Park, where they allegedly located and seized a hydroponic set up along with about 300 cannabis plants.
The estimated street value of the seized plants is believed to total $1 million dollars.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with knowingly take part-cultivate more than large commercial quantity-cannabis, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 12 September 2025).
