Man Charged After $2.1M Illegal Vape Bust In Petersham

A man will face court after a large amount of illegal vape products were seized in Sydney's Inner West yesterday.

In September 2025, officers attached to Region Enforcement Squad Penrith commenced an investigation into illegal vape products allegedly being supplied in Petersham area.

Following inquiries, about 10.45am yesterday (Thursday 25 September 2025), detectives executed a search warrant at a storage facility on Queen Street, Petersham, where they seized approximately 60,554 vape products from three storage units.

Police allege the estimated street value of each item is at $35, which makes it more than $ 2.1 million dollars in total.

Following further inquiries, about 10.45am on the same day, police arrested a 24-year-old man at a home on Betty Cuthbert Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with possess more than 100 times to less than 1000 times commercial quantity of vaping goods and possess 1000 times of commercial quantity or more of vaping goods.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 30 September 2025.
