Man charged after assault in south-west Sydney

A man has been charged, and another man is in hospital, after an assault in south-west Sydney yesterday afternoon, NSW Police say.

Police have been told just before 5pm today, two men have had an altercation outside a licensed premise on Woodward Street, Miller.

One of men has been pushed and fallen onto the concrete, striking his head.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and took the 56-year-old man to Liverpool Hospital where he currently remains. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Officers from Green Valley Local Area Command attended the incident and arrested a 49-year-old man nearby.

He was taken to Green Valley Police Station and has been charged with recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.

The man has been granted bail and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 12 October 2017.
