Man charged after attempting to procure girl for sex in Liverpool

Police have charged a man after he allegedly tried to procure a teenage girl for sexual activity in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 12.45pm (Monday 12 November 2018), a 14-year-old girl was sitting in a mall on Macquarie Street, Liverpool, when a man approached her.

Police will allege the man spoke to her and tried to procure her for sexual activity.

When the girl declined, he walked away.

The girl left and told her mother who immediately reported the incident to officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command who were patrolling nearby.

Officers located and arrested a 61-year-old man in the mall.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with procure child for unlawful sexual activity.

He has been given strict bail conditions and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday (15 November 2018).
