Man charged after cannabis plants found in backyard in Lowanna

A man will face court later this month after cannabis plants were allegedly located in a backyard on the state’s north coast, NSW Police say.

After receiving information from Crime Stoppers, officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended a home on Wilson Street, Lowanna, about 11.20am yesterday, and spoke to a male resident.

A subsequent search allegedly uncovered a number of cannabis plants growing in the backyard as well as cannabis leaf inside the home, all of which was seized by police.

The drugs have a total street value of $33 925.

The 35-year-old man was issued with a future court attendance notice for the offences of cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited plant.

He will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday 30 January 2017.
