Man charged after firearms discovered, NSW

A man will appear in court today after firearms, ammunition and knives were found at a home in Bossley Park at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 5.45pm yesterday (Sunday 28 October 2018), police attached to the South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad conducted a firearms and weapons prohibition order (FPO/WPO) at a home on Prairie Vale Road.

Police served the order on the 35-year-old male resident and subsequently located two replica handguns in a safe.

Also within a bedroom of the home police located 10 shotgun cartridges and nine assorted knives, including flick, butterfly and concealed bladed weapons.

The man was arrested and conveyed to Fairfield Police Station where he was later charged with possess prohibited firearm (x 2), possess ammunition, and possess prohibited weapon (x 9).

The man was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 29 October 2018).
