Man charged after teens indecently assaulted in Hurstville

A man has been charged after two teenage girls were allegedly indecently assaulted at Hurstville yesterday, NSW Police say.

The girls – aged 15 and 14 – were performing promotional activities inside a shopping centre on Park Road about 6pm (Sunday 12 November 2017) when they were approached by a man on a mobility scooter.

The man allegedly indecently assaulted both girls before members of the public intervened.

He left the scene and police were alerted.

Officers from St George Local Area Command attended, spoke to witnesses and viewed CCTV footage.

Following inquiries, a 72-year-old man was arrested at a home in Hurstville later in the evening.

He was charged with two counts of indecent assault and given bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on 5 December 2017.

Inquiries into the alleged incident are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
