Man Charged After Weapons Seized in Bonnyrigg

A man has been charged after firearms and weapons were seized in Sydney's southwest yesterday.

About 7.30am (Thursday 10 July 2025), officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended a home on Hollows Place, Bonnyrigg to conduct a Firearms Prohibition Order compliance check.

Police searched the home and allegedly seized an assault rifle Gel blaster, multiple double edged hunting knives, butterfly knife, push button flick knife, multiple mini crossbows, bow and arrows, a sling shot, ammunition, three extendable batons, knuckle dusters, a laser pointer, knight vision goggles, a taser and OC spray.

A 44-year-old man was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

He was charged with 11 counts possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts possess ammunition without holding licence / permit / authority, possess unregistered firearm – prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm and acquire firearm part without authority to do so.

He was refused bail and will appear before Fairfield Local Court later today (Friday 11 July 2025)
