A man faced court after police allegedly seized firearms, drugs and knives at a home in the state's west last week.
About 7.30pm on Saturday 21 March 2026, officers attached to Barrier Police District attended a home on Long Street, Broken Hill, following reports of a domestic violence incident.
On arrival, police spoke to the two occupants at the residence.
During a search of the property, police allegedly located and seized six firearms including two replica pistols, ammunition, a flare, a number of swords, knives and spears, along with 1.2kg of Cannabis leaves.
A 29-year-old man was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with following offences:
- Possess unauthorised pistol (four counts),
- Acquire pistol part without authority to do so,
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority,
- Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000,
- Possess prohibited drug,
- Supply cannabis more than indictable and less than commercial quantity,
- Possess, supply or make explosive or unlawful purpose (three counts),
- Possess unauthorised firearm (two counts),
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm,
- Not keep firearm safely – not pistol/prohibited firearm,
- Not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm, and
- Not keep firearm safely – pistol.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Monday 23 March 2026).
