Man charged following Broadmeadows and Clifton Hill incidents

Detectives have charged a man following an armed robbery in Clifton Hill in March and a theft and sexual assault in Broadmeadows this month, Victoria Police say.

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the 36-year-old man today and charged him with theft, blackmail and sexual assault in relation to the Broadmeadows incident.

Melbourne Embona detectives have charged him with armed robbery and other related offences in relation to the Clifton Hill incident.

The charges relate to an alleged incident where a woman was sexually assaulted and had her phone stolen in Broadmeadows on 8 June.

In the second incident, a pizza delivery driver was allegedly robbed in Clifton Hill on 17 March.

The Heidelberg Heights man will front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.
