Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault on a woman earlier this month., Victoria Police say
It is believed the 51-year-old woman was on the Gardiners Creek Trail on 5 November when the alleged assault occurred.
A 40-year-old Burwood man handed himself in to police this morning and was interviewed.
He has since been charged with intentionally and recklessly cause injury, affray and other assault related matters.
The Burwood man was also charged with unlawful assault regarding another alleged assault on a man in the same area prior to the incident.
He was bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 11 May 2018.
