Man charged following investigation into armed robberies, NSW

A second man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at a service station in western Sydney in September, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Mabel was established by officers attached to Metropolitan Robbery Unit to investigate a number of armed robberies on service stations, in south west and western Sydney.

Just before 10am today, police arrested a 30-year-old man at Richmond.

Following his arrest, Strike Force detectives searched a home on Hargrave Street, Kingswood, where they located a number of items. The items were seized and will undergo forensic examinations.

The man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with robbery with offensive weapon.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
