Sexual Crime Squad detectives have charged a 58-year-old man after a woman was sexually assaulted at Officer in July, Victoria Police say.
The alleged incident happened when a woman accepted a lift from a man on the Princes Highway at Beaconsfield on Sunday 30 July around midnight.
The woman was taken to Starling Road in Officer where she was sexually assaulted.
A Warragul man was arrested and charged today with rape, sexual assault and assault with intent to commit a sexual offence.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
