Sexual Crimes Squad detectives have arrested a man following a sexual assault in Shepparton on Sunday 14 October, Victoria Police say.
Police were called to a residential address on Lightfoot Street about 7.40am after an unknown male entered the premises and sexually assaulted the female occupant.
She was taken to hospital for observation.
A 25-year-old Shepparton man was arrested in Shepparton about 11.30am today.
He has been charged with 19 offences including rape, aggravated burglary and false imprisonment.
He has been remanded to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (16 October)
