Man Charged for Drug Supply, Pepper Spray in Broken Hill

A man has been charged with alleged drug supply offences and possession of pepper spray in the state's west.

About 2.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 August 2026), officers from the Western Operational Support Group executed a search warrant at a home on Jabez Street, Broken Hill, where the 51-year-old male occupant was present at the time.

Police will allege that during the search, more than 500grams of methylamphetamine, 150 medical tablets and three cannisters of pepper spray were located and seized.

The street value of the methylamphetamine is estimated to be about $100,000.

Police arrested the man at the location where he was taken to Broken Hill Police Station and charged with seven offences including:

  • Supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity
  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle/vessel)
  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (three counts)
  • Possess prohibited drug (two counts)

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 later today (Thursday 20 August 2026).

Investigations are ongoing.
