Man Charged for Touching Kids Through School Fence

A man will face court charged after allegedly touching several children through a school fence in Sydney's Inner West earlier this month.

On Wednesday 3 September 2025, detectives attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports primary school students were allegedly inappropriately touched at a school in Forest Lodge.

Detectives were told an unknown elderly man allegedly touched several schoolgirls – aged between 8 and 9 – through a school fence between Wednesday 3 September and Thursday 4 September 2025.

Following investigations, about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 9 September 2025), police arrested an 86-year-old man at the intersection of Bridge Road and Foss Street, Forest Lodge.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with three counts of sexually touch child under 10.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division – Court 6 today (Wednesday 10 September 2025).
