Detectives from the Rural and Stock Crime Squad have travelled to Dubbo, New South Wales to extradite a man to Queensland in relation to a protracted investigation into stock stealing.
On January 10, detectives applied for the extradition of a 48-year-old man located by NSW Police for charges relating to Operation Whiskey Radford.
In December 2023, Toowoomba Rural and Stock Crime Squad detectives commenced Operation Whiskey Radford after reported cattle thefts in the Pikedale area.
It is alleged the cattle were stolen from an agistment property by the lease holder.
Detectives have utilised DNA analysis throughout the operation and seized 30 head of cattle as part of the initial investigation, and a subsequent muster of a 7,000ha property.
The 48-year-old man was charged with 32 counts of stock stealing, one count of unlawful use of stock, 33 counts of fraud offences relating to supply of stock lick (supplement) and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
