A man will face court charged after several businesses and homes were broken into and two people were assaulted in two separate incidents in the state's west.
Just after 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 December 2025), police were called to a home on Sulphide Street, Broken Hill, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District were told a 31-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man were allegedly assaulted by a man known to them.
They were both treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries to their face and legs before being taken to Broken Hill Hospital for further treatment.
A short time later, police arrested a 30-year-old man near Chloride Street, Broken Hill.
Inquiries allege the man was involved in a multiple break and enters at a business on Oxide Street, Broken Hill, between Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 December 2025.
He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property (DV), wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), break and enter house steal value less than or equal to $60,000 (four counts), take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence, damage property by fire/explosion, and destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000.
He was subsequently charged with an outstanding warrant on break and enter house steal value less than or equal to $60,000.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 4 December 2025).
