A man will face court today charged over the alleged armed robbery of a man at caravan in the state's north yesterday.
Just after 8.15am (Tuesday 3 February 2026), officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District commenced an investigation after a 41-year-old man, suffering wounds to his arm, attended Coffs Harbour Police Station.
Police were told the man was asleep in his caravan parked in a carpark on Jordan Esplanade, Coffs Harbour when two unknown men - both armed with knives - allegedly forced entry about 6.15am, and threatened him, before slashing his hand, demanding money be transferred into a bank account.
The injured man was able to jump out of a window before notifying police.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital for further treatment.
Police attended the caravan; however, the two men had left prior to their arrival.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, about 9.30am the same day, police attended a home on Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour arrested a 34-year-old. During the arrest, three officers were allegedly kicked and bitten.
During a search of the home, officers seized a knife along with items relevant to the investigation. The seized items will be forensically examined.
The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence - wound, and three counts of assault police officer in execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 1 today (Wednesday 4 February 2026).
