Man Charged in Coffs Harbour Stolen Vehicle Case

A man will face court today charged following an investigation into a stolen vehicle at Coffs Harbour earlier this week.

About 5.20pm on Monday 31 August 2026, a Mazda BT50 was allegedly stolen from Howard Street, Coffs Harbour.

Police attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into the incident.

About 1am today (Wednesday 2 September 2026), following extensive inquiries, police stopped a man on Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour.

A Taser was used to effect the arrest of the 37-year-old man, and he was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

There he was charged with three offences,

  • Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
  • Licence expired more than 2 years ago, and
  • Possess prohibited plant less than or equal to small quantity.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Wednesday 2 September 2026).
