A man will face court this month following an investigation into an aggravated break and enter in the state's Central West last week.
About 2.40am on Thursday 5 June 2025, three people forced entry into a home on Medlyn Street, Parkes.
Police have been told the residents, a 31-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, were assaulted before the three people left the home taking keys to the home and car.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man and woman on scene before they were taken to Parkes Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released.
Two children at the home were not injured.
Officers attached to Central West Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, about 2.50pm on Saturday 7 June 2025, police were called to a business on Market Street, Mudgee, for an unrelated matter and arrested a 22-year-old man.
Police will allege in court he was in possession of an electric scooter at the time of his arrest.
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-inflict actual bodily harm.
The man was also charged with unrelated matters for drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, overtake vehicle when unsafe, three counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday (8 June 2025), where he was formally refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 19 June 2025.
