Man charged over domestic incident Upper Coomera

A 50-year-old man will be extradited back to Queensland from Newcastle today to face charges following a domestic incident at Upper Coomera on March 30, 2017, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that during the incident at a residence around 11pm a 45-year-old woman was assaulted, choked and had petrol thrown over her.

The woman was treated for her injuries.

A 50-year-old Coomera man has been charged with intended to cause grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence), choking, suffocating, strangulation associated with domestic violence, wilful damage (domestic violence offence), stealing (domestic violence offence) and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm associated with domestic violence offence.

He is due to face Southport Court on Friday April 7, 2017.
